If it were not for the generosity, vision, commitment, determination and selflessness of Mr. Zach Karas, the "Academy" in Charter Oak Boxing Academy would not stand before you in Harford's Parkville/Frog Hollow Community
Mr. Karas love and affinity for Hartford and it's people began with his families ownership and operation of Hartford's legendary Washington Street Diner. His parents, John and Marie, pillars of the Greek-American community, instilled in Zach, his brother Nick and sister Cindy, a love and empathy for all people, a commitment to embrace and celebrate all cultures and an obligation to always give back to the community.
On November 30th 2017, the kids, coaches, parents and all that make up the "COBA" family eternally thank Mr. Zach Karas for making our thirty year dream come true, and availing it to Hartford's children and youth for decades to come.
